With this traditional Christmas letter we would like to express our thanks for the good and pleasant cooperation. In particular, we would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in our staff, who are committed and happy to serve you.
The Corona pandemic continues to keep the world on tenterhooks and the rising number of Covid 19 cases in many countries is a cause for concern. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, world trade has not been running smoothly: congestion at freight ports, lack of containers, too few truck drivers. The situation in the supply chains has worsened to such an extent that delivery bottlenecks are expected for the Christmas season. It seems that the pandemic has even thrown the Christ Child off track. As a result of these challenges, prices are rising and everyone is facing sharply rising costs.
As we focus primarily on the food sector, we have been able to record an above-average increase in orders over the last few months, which is pleasing for us. We consider this an obligation because you are counting on us. For months now, our employees have been stretched to the limit and have been doing everything they can to ensure that deliveries are made without interruption and on time. Unfortunately, we do not always succeed and we apologise for this and thank you for your understanding. The boom in online trade as well as the distortions in the timber markets led to delivery times for cardboard and paper increasing from the usual level of 4 - 8 weeks after the summer to 10 - 20 weeks, and even more for special qualities. The situation is not expected to ease until the middle of next year. However, we promise to do everything we can to continue to supply you reliably.
Despite all the hectic and tension, we look forward to a reflective Christmas. We thank you for your valued loyalty and wish you from the bottom of our hearts a happy and successful new year 2022!
