We produce using solar energy
Solar energy in packaging production is a key part of our sustainability strategy. By using renewable energy sources, we reduce our CO₂ emissions and actively contribute to environmental protection. At the same time, we improve energy efficiency and reduce our long-term dependence on fossil fuels.
Solar energy in practice
Sustainability starts with the energy source. In Winterthur, Singen and Warsaw, we rely on modern photovoltaic systems. Depending on location and weather conditions, these systems can cover up to 40% of our energy needs.
Integrated solar cells convert sunlight directly into electrical energy. This means we can use the generated power immediately in our production processes.
As a result, we reduce our reliance on conventional energy sources and improve the environmental footprint of our packaging production. In addition, we strengthen supply security and make our production processes more future-proof.
Our photovoltaic systems
PAWI Packaging AG in Winterthur:
Since 1 October 2025, more than 1,200 PV modules with a total area of around 2,500 m² have been supplying electricity directly to our internal grid.
PAWI Packaging Deutschland GmbH in Singen:
For many years, our site in Singen has generated over 40% of its energy needs using a photovoltaic system covering approximately 4,500 m².
PAWI Packaging Poland Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw:
In September 2022, we installed the first solar panels on the roof of our production facility. Today, around 250 m² of photovoltaic systems support our packaging production with sustainable energy.

A holistic approach to sustainability
Sustainability does not end with energy supply. Therefore, we take a holistic approach across our entire packaging production process.
