5 years at PAWI: a success story shaped by commitment and innovation
This year, Stefan Brecht is celebrating his five-year anniversary at PAWI – a success story shaped by commitment and innovation. As an IT expert, he has made a major contribution to the development of key applications and experienced the introduction of new working structures, such as sociocracy, first-hand. He is now looking to the future by refining internal systems and modernising outdated processes.
The interview with Stefan Brecht was conducted by our apprentice commercial clerk Asia Murrieri. The article was written by our apprentice commercial clerk Selina Malgo.
Employees come and go, but it is a real source of joy when they stay, and their successes can be celebrated. That is the case for our IT expert Stefan Brecht, who will be celebrating his five-year anniversary with us towards the end of 2024. But what has changed over these five years, and how did Stefan find his way to PAWI in the first place?
As the saying goes, all roads lead to Rome – or rather to PAWI; and Stefan found his own way to us, too. He was asked by one of our employees, Hendrick Kurland, to help develop MES*, and this marked the beginning of his career at PAWI. Initially, he worked closely with Hendrick; today, the IT team consists of nine people. But it is not just the size of the team that has changed: over the years, Stefan has undertaken extensive work on various applications and interfaces, gaining deeper insights into the systems as a result. This has enabled Stefan to achieve his goal of honing his software development skills. He is particularly proud of the introduction of middleware for the interfaces of most internal applications and the development of PAWISY to simplify the creation of client-specific products.
And what new experiences has he gained at PAWI over the past five years? It is hard to believe, but sociocracy was a brand-new addition to PAWI five years ago – and Stefan was in the thick of the action when it was successfully introduced. His advice to new colleagues? “Actively get involved so you can make a big difference!”
But Stefan has not finished learning yet! He wants to refine internal applications and replace outdated systems. We hope his successful trajectory continues and wish him all the best.
