The future of packaging technology: Our new paper bag machine in Winterthur
In February 2024, we added our latest acquisition to the machine fleet, a paper bag machine from Garant Maschinen, a leading German manufacturer. The installation was a high point in our continuous effort to further automate and modernise our production.
State-of-the-art technology arrived on 6 February 2024
This took place at our headquarters in Winterthur (Switzerland), where the arrival of our paper bag machine was marked by an impressive scene: Supported by a powerful crane from Toggenburger, it entered through a large opening in the roof to reach its destination.
Features of the new paper bag machine
The setup and commissioning phase took several days. During this time, the machine was carefully assembled, and our team was given in-depth training. This training makes it possible for our employees to leverage the full potential of the paper bag machine, which is faster and equipped with six advanced printing machines. These six printing machines not only mean an increase in speed, but also greater efficiency. The option to set up the printing machines more efficiently minimises downtimes and improves the flexibility of our production. A clever folding mechanism rounds out the features.
A look at the vision for paper bag production
Why take this step? Our previous machine served us for an impressive 20 years. It was time for a generation change and the advancement of our paper bag production. After all, we continue to rely on the production of paper bags for baked goods and are thus actively investing in the future of this long-standing craft.
The journey of our old paper bag machine
The old paper bag machine has found a new home in an Eastern European country, after being dismantled by its new owner and transported away.
