In collaboration with Mäder Kräuter AG, we developed an innovative cardboard herb packaging that replaces traditional plastic herb trays. Using unbleached fresh-fibre cardboard with a transparent rPET window, the plastic content has been reduced by 83 %. Retailers benefit from a sustainable packaging solution that combines ecological responsibility with product protection and efficient handling.

Optimised Product Protection and Extended Freshness

The packaging reliably protects fresh herbs during transport, storage and display. A thin coating on the cardboard preserves freshness for several days, while the transparent window allows customers to check product quality at a glance.

Cardboard Instead of Plastic for Efficient Processes

As a smart plastic alternative, the solution reduces material usage and tray weight by around 25 %. The sturdy construction ensures safe stacking and simple handling. The natural look enhances product presentation and supports the image of sustainable ranges.

Comprehensive Packaging and Logistics Concept

We also use resource-saving IFCO reusable crates, eliminating additional corrugated cardboard and further reducing material consumption. The result is a complete concept that optimises sustainability, efficiency and product safety.
