For Zopf Begg in Allschwil (Canton of Basel), PAWI developed a customised packaging solution for Easter doves. This traditional baked speciality is mainly produced during the Easter season and therefore requires specific packaging solutions. Seasonal bakery products often differ from standard formats in terms of shape, size and production quantities.

For this reason, the customer required a customised cardboard packaging solution that perfectly matched the product while also ensuring a high-quality presentation at the point of sale. At the same time, the packaging needed to be stable, cost-efficient and flexible to produce, even for varying quantities.

Precisely fitting packaging for delicate Easter bakery products

We designed the packaging exactly according to the dimensions of the Easter dove and adjusted it specifically to the delicate baked product. As a result, the packaging reliably protects the product during transport while also making handling easier at the point of sale. In addition, the stable carton construction ensures excellent shape retention, while the high-quality material emphasises the handcrafted quality of the Easter speciality. This creates not only a functional packaging solution, but also an attractive presentation for bakeries and confectioneries.

Flexible packaging development without die-cutting tools

A key advantage in this project was the use of our modern laser cutting technology. Thanks to this technology, we can produce packaging without expensive die-cutting tools and implement new shapes particularly quickly. As a result, we remain flexible and can realise customised constructions in a cost-efficient way.

This production method is especially beneficial for seasonal products such as Easter doves. We can efficiently produce small batches and easily implement short-term adjustments. Therefore, no high tooling costs arise, while our customers retain maximum freedom in design. Packaging solutions can thus be perfectly adapted to the specific bakery product — quickly, flexibly and economically.
